Hoy, viernes 22 de enero fue el último día para enviar donaciones para la Campaña de Ayuda a Haití. El Colegio Jorge Washington realizó una donación por $ 11,233,600 pesos a la Cruz Roja Internacional en la tarde del hoy.
Sus donaciones brindarán el auxilio necesitado a muchas familias haitianas que lo han perdido todo; gracias porque esto demuestra que la Comunidad COJOWA está presente y que a pesar de estar tan lejos de Haití el apoyo de COJOWA estará ahí.
Haiti Relief Campaign: On January 12th Haiti suffered a 7.0Mw earthquake, the worst one in the region in more than 200 years. The International Red Cross estimates at about three million people were affected by the quake, and about 45,000–50,000 people were killed The earthquake almost left the country without the basic needs… Colegio Jorge Washington decided that we needed to help out as best we could from here; and after contacting the US Embassy and researching on the Internet on ways to help we were advised that the best way aid them faster was to donate to the International Red Cross. They’ll use the money to get Haitians water, medicine, food, clothes, etc. That’s why starting Monday January 18th to Friday January 22nd, all 8th grade students will be raising money amongst their classmates to be able to give this money transferred in name of the school on Friday Jan 22 after 12:00m.
